Briati Craftsmanship

Sylvia Heiden continues a four generation family tradition of working in the diamond and jewelry industry. She was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium - the diamond capital of the world. Her keen eye for quality diamonds began to develop with her first “job” at age four – picking up loose diamonds from the floor of her father’s office. At age 16 she was awarded an internship at Rosyblue, one of the largest diamond consortiums in Europe. As and undergraduate she studied Finance with additional coursework in Design taken at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She began designing jewelry, first for herself, and then upon request when she was given a collection of loose stones from South America. As more of her friends began to ask her to design jewelry for them it became clear that her skills and careful eye were in great demand. With the successful launch of Briati in 2006 Sylvia presented her first collection of diamond jewelry to upscale childrens’ and womens’ boutiques. The Briati collection, first with diamonds and now with pearls and gold has been well received in New York City.

The hallmark of Briati creations is their fine craftsmanship. Sylvia Heiden designs or refines each creation through constant revision. Her appreciation of fine design and attention to the smallest detail allows her to insure that each Briati piece is destined to become a favorite part of the recipient's wardrobe.

The Briati "Think Pink" bracelet has a meaningful history behind it. This year Sylvia Heiden was commissioned to create an original piece of jewelry to benefit the Susan Koman Foundation. Drawing inspiration from the 2007 collection charms Sylvia fused the now well-known pink ribbon with a Briati inspired engraved sterling silver disc. These bracelets are being sold in order to raise awareness and funds for the Susan Koman foundation - specifically the division that supports the teenage daughters of women diagnosed with breast cancer. The Briati Think Pink bracelet is an inspirational piece of jewelry that benefits familys who are fighting breast cancer and fighting to win.
