ENK all the way!

Sunday finally came! It was a relief to get going, although the build-up was long in coming. This show we decided to try a different booth display and covered the walls in beautiful baby blue fabric by Ralph Lauren. David spent two hours stretching and hanging the fabric. When I got impatient with his methodical steaming technique I decided I was going to take over in a faster fashion. The poor guy almost got steamed in my frenzy.

The booth came out great! The baby blue walls really helped enhance the jewelry. We found an amazing sheepskin rug to use as carpet so that the buyers and press could sink their feet into something luxurious.  David and I had a little disagreement regarding his choice of flower color - never send a man to do a woman's job!

The show has been fantastic. It's such a great opportunity to catch up with everybody. The designers inspire me with their colors and styles. I keep an eye on the adult fashions in Europe and the children's designs in America - put it all into the percolator and wait for the the designs to make their presence felt.

It was great to meet some new people from overseas including Japan, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. It's interesting to hear their perspectives on children's jewelry. However, there is one thing that never needs translation: genuine materials = profits. It seems that these days customers are asking their store owners for precious metals and cultured pearls.  I am always thrilled to hear about the warm response that Briati receives in various stores - all over the world.
